For nearly 30 years Dr. Silverman has pioneered smile enhancement systems for the dental profession and the public. In 1987, he opened the first smile spa after working with beauty developers Glemby International of New York and Aida Gray of Beverly Hills, Calif. In 1992 he launched today's over-the-counter tooth whitening category with his invention, Vanna White's Perfect Smile System. Dr. Silverman has since invented several other successful whitening systems that combined infomercials with retail distribution to brighten smiles throughout the world. 

Dr. Silverman has written articles on cosmetic dentistry and has served as a contributing and consulting editor in the dental press. During the past 25 years he has given more than 200 seminars and onsite consultations to dentists wanting to expand their cosmetic dental practices. This includes refining one of the original porcelain veneer systems, pioneering extreme makeovers, developing many technical simplification procedures used in tooth bonding along with zero pressure marketing programs that create patient excitement for cosmetic dentistry. Dr. Silverman is a Fellow of the American Society for Dental Aesthetics and a Diplomat of the American Board of Aesthetic Dentistry.
